Meet the Staff

Alex Mahlios

Alex Mahlios is our office manager. He has been a Medical Assistant since 2009 and joined the Gillingham Family Practice in 2020. Alex has a background in working with people with substance use disorders and enjoys being part of people’s care and wellness. One of his favorite things about working at Gillingham family practice is working in a small office and closely with the patients to address their medical needs. He has lived in Portland since 2006, originally from Northern Arizona.

Outside of work Alex enjoys spending time outside working on his yard, hiking, and riding his scooter with his wife and son. Alex also enjoys music and plays guitar, bass, and drums.

Jenna Miller

Jenna is our Front office Coordinator. She joined the practice in July of 2024, when she moved to the Hillsboro area. Jenna has a background in medical office administration and really enjoys helping patients navigate the medical field. What she loves about working at a small family practice is getting to know patients and their families and being able to watch them grow over time.

Outside of work, Jenna likes to walk her dog on long hikes through the woods, work outside in her vegetable garden, shop at thrift stores, and explore local vegetarian restaurants.

Betty Flores

Betty has been a certified medical assistant for 6 years, and joined  Gillingham Family Practice in June 2024. Betty takes care of her patients like a family member. Betty was born in Mexico Oaxaca and came to the US at 6 years old. She has had passion to work in the medical field taking care of patients and their families since she was little.

Outside of work she loves going on hikes, walks and to the movies with family. Betty also enjoys spending time with her puppy, on rainy days she prefers staying indoors reading books by the window.

Betty ha sido asistente médica certificada durante 6 años y ahora se unió a la familia Gillingham en junio de 2024. Betty cuida a sus pacientes como un miembro de la familia. Nació en México, Oaxaca, llegó a los Estados Unidos a los 6 años y desde entonces ha tenido pasión por trabajar en el campo médico cuidando a los pacientes y sus familias.

Fuera del trabajo, le encanta hacer caminatas, caminar e ir al cine con la familia. En su tiempo libre le gusta pasar tiempo con su mascota, en los días de lluvia prefiere quedarse en casa leyendo libros junto a la ventana.

Destiny Waterworth

Destiny is a Certified Medical Assistant and has been working with Gillingham Family Practice since spring of 2024. Destiny is a born and raised Oregonian who lived in a small town near Detroit Lake before moving up near Portland. She has been working in the medical field since 2022.

Outside of work, she is often outside exploring the outdoors while camping or visiting the beach. When the weather is bad, she spends her time doing digital art and enjoying Disney movies.
